Dr Purvez K Grant says there is overwhelming evidence to suggest that vaccines work in granting protection even against the new mutant strains of COVID-19. Doctors say that while a reinfection with a new strain is possible, with the vaccine there is increased protection from severe disease, hospitalization and even death.
