Cooking Gas Price Cut By Rs. 6.52 Per Cylinder

Domestic cooking gas (LPG) price on Friday was cut by Rs. 6.52 per cylinder on account of tax impact on the reduced market rate for the fuel. A 14.2-kg subsidised LPG cylinder will cost Rs. 500.90 in the national capital from midnight tonight as against Rs. 507.42 currently, Indian Oil Corp (IOC), the country's largest fuel retailer, said in a statement. The price reduction comes soon after six consecutive monthly hikes in rates since June. Prior to this price cut, rates had gone up by Rs. 14.13 per cylinder since then. Subsidised LPG rates were last hiked by Rs. 2.94 per cylinder with effect from November 1.

GDP Growth Slows To 7.1% Against 8.2% In Previous Quarter

Economic growth slowed to 7.1 per cent in the July-September period against 8.2 per cent in the June quarter, government data showed on Friday. In the corresponding quarter last year, gross domestic product (GDP) had grown 6.3 per cent. At this rate, the GDP growth was the lowest in three quarters, but still remained ahead of China, thus still retaining India as the world's fastest-growing major economy, reported news agency Press Trust of India. This was below a median estimate in a poll of economists by news agency Reuters who had put the annual GDP growth at 7.4 per cent in the second quarter. GDP at constant (2011-12) prices in the second quarter of 2018-19 is estimated at Rs. 33.98 lakh crore, as against Rs. 31.72 lakh crore in the corresponding quarter last year, according to an official statement.

Reservation For Marathas Cleared, 68 Per Cent Quota In Maharashtra Now

Marathas will now get 16 per cent reservation in jobs and education in Maharashtra -- a bill to this effect was passed unanimously today by the state assembly. This 16 per cent reservation is over and above the 50 per cent reservation allowed by the Supreme Court. Currently, 52 per cent seats in Maharashtra are reserved and the Maratha quota will take it to 68 per cent. Earlier this year, the Marathas, a politically influential community that forms 30 per cent of the state's population, were declared a backward community following their long-standing demand.

मध्य प्रदेश में बढ़े मतदान प्रतिशत का बीजेपी को लाभ मिलेगा या कांग्रेस को ?

मध्य प्रदेश में लोगों की पसंद ईवीएम में कैद हो गई है.पूरे राज्य में लोगों में मतदान के प्रति खासा उत्साह देखने को मिला. चुनाव आयोग के मुताबिक मध्य प्रदेश में रिकॉर्ड 75% मतदान हुआ है. 2013 के विधानसभा चुनाव में 72.13 फीसदी मतदान हुआ था. उससे पहले के आंकड़े और परिणाम भी आपके सामने है. जबकि 2008 में 69.52 प्रतिशत, 2003 में 67.41 प्रतिशत, 1998 में 60.21 प्रतिशत, 1993 में 60.17 प्रतिशत वोट डाले गए थे. यानी 2003 में करीब सात फीसदी अधिक मतदान ने बीजेपी को तीन चौथाई बहुमत दिलाया था. इसके बाद क्रमश करीब दो और तीन फीसदी की मामूली बढोत्तरी हुई और बीजेपी भारी बहुमत से चुनाव जीत कर सरकार बचाने में कामयाबी रही. इतने भारी मतदान के बाद विश्लेषण शुरू हो गया है कि इसका फायदा किसे मिलेगा? बीजेपी और कांग्रेस दोनों ही अपनी-अपनी जीत का दावा कर रही हैं.

अयोध्या में राम मंदिर (Ram Mandir in Ayodhya) बनाने का रास्ता साफ़ करने के लिए मोदी सरकार पर क़ानून लाने का दबाव है. शनिवार को सरकार की सहयोगी शिवसेना ने अयोध्या में रैली करके पुरजोर तरीक़े से ये मांग उठाई. संघ की ओर से भी लगातार इसको लेकर मांग उठ रही है. हालांकि सरकार ने तो अभी इस बारे में कुछ नहीं कहा है, लेकिन धारवाड़ से बीजेपी के सांसद प्रह्लाद जोशी ने आने वाले शीत सत्र में इस मसले पर प्राइवेट मेंबर बिल लाने का ऐलान किया है. उन्होंने अयोध्या में जुटे साधु-संतों को ये आश्वासन दिया है.

बेंगलुरू में एक लॉ ग्रेजुएट की संदिग्‍त हालात में मौत हुई है. मौत से पहले उसने एक वकील के ख़िलाफ़ यौन शोषण का मामला दर्ज करवाया था. ऐसे में इस लड़की को मौत को लेकर सवाल उठ खड़े हुए हैं. तक़रीबन 26 साल की लॉ इंटर्न अपने पीजी होस्टल में इसी हालात में पाई गई. अस्पताल ले जाने से पहले ही रास्ते मे उसकी मौत हो गई. लेकिन मौत से कुछ दिन पहले यानी 20 नवम्बर को उसने एक वकील के खिलाफ यौन शोषण का मामला दर्ज करवाया था. इसके मातहत वो एक लॉ फर्म में तक़रीबन एक साल तक बतौर इंटर्न काम कर रही थी.

खेती और किसानों पर नोटबंदी के असर को लेकर अपने पहले के रुख पर कृषि मंत्रालय ने यू टर्न ले लिया है. मंत्रालय ने जो नया बैकग्राउंड नोट पेश किया है उसमें दावा किया गया है कि नोटबंदी का खेती सेक्टर पर अच्छा असर पड़ा, बीज की बिक्री बढ़ी, खाद की बिक्री में भी इज़ाफ़ा हुआ और 2016 में रबी का रकबा भी बढ़ा. सूत्रों के मुताबिक मंत्रालय ने वित्त पर स्थायी समिति को सूचित किया है कि डाटा तैयार करने में गलती की वजह से पहले नोट में गड़बड़ी हुई. पहले के नोट में कहा गया था नोटबंदी की वजह से खेती सेक्टर में नकदी की कमी आई, कई किसान बीज और खाद खरीदने में नाकाम रहे.

Sensex, Nifty Trade In A Range

The domestic stock markets started Tuesday's session on a flat note, with a negative bias. The S&P BSE Sensex started at 35,394.77 against its last close of 35,354.08 and the Nifty50 barometer of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) opened at 10,621.45 against its previous close of 10,628.60. However, at 9:18 am, the 30-share Sensex traded at 35,370.14, up 16.06 points or 0.05 per cent and the 50-scrip Nifty was at 10,632.40, with a gain of 3.80 points or 0.04 per cent.
