A massive victory for the BJP in the national election appears to have left the Congress in a state of confusion. The three states where it is in power - Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Karnataka - could suffer collateral damage, analysts say. There are allegations the BJP is trying to destabilise alliances of the Congress in the three states. The Congress calls this "Operation Lotus", but it appears the party may face an implosion. The starting points include a minister reportedly resigning in Rajasthan, two Congress legislators openly dissenting against their party in Karnataka and in Madhya Pradesh, allegations of horse-trading.
