GDP Growth At 6.6% In December Quarter, Slowest In Over A Year

India's GDP or gross domestic product growth stood at 6.6 per cent in the quarter ended December 31, 2018, government data showed on Thursday. That marked the slowest rate of GDP expansion recorded since the quarter ended September 2017, and lower than economists' estimate. According to a poll by news agency Reuters, the median forecast from more than 55 economists polled on February 19-25 was for a GDP growth of 6.9 per cent.

केंद्र सरकार ने गुरुवार रात को हुई कैबिनेट बैठक में कई अहम फ़ैसले किए. इसमें जम्मू-कश्मीर में आरक्षण से लेकर आगरा-कानपुर में मेट्रो शुरू करने तक के प्रस्ताव शामिल हैं. जो अहम फैसले हैं उनमें जम्मू-कश्मीर को लेकर 1954 के संवैधानिक आदेश का संशोधन है. अब अनुसूचित जाति, अनुसूचित जनजाति और ओबीसी का आरक्षण भी वहां के लोगों को मिलेगा और आर्थिक रूप से पिछड़े वर्ग का आरक्षण दोनों जम्मू कश्मीर में भी लागू किए जाएंगे जो अब तक अनुच्छेद 370 की वजह से लागू नहीं हो पाए थे. साथ ही केंद्र ने जम्मू कश्मीर की जमाते इस्लामी को अवैध संस्था भी घोषित कर दिया.

Rahul Gandhi has written to Congress Chief Ministers to file petitions asking the Supreme Court to review an order asking state governments to evict tribals whose claims to forest land were rejected. The Supreme Court order "deserves your urgent intervention", wrote the Congress president in the letter sent on the weekend to Kamal Nath and Bhupesh Baghel, the Chief Ministers of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. "The court has directed state governments to evict tribals and other forest dwellers whose claims under the Forest Rights Act were rejected," he said.

Sensex Jumps Over 150 Points, Nifty Hits 10,830

Domestic stock markets started the week on a positive note tracking strength in Asian peers. The Sensex gained as much as 162.03 points to 36,033.51 in early trade, while the Nifty moved up 38.45 points to touch 10,830.10. The BSE benchmark index crossed the 36,000 mark in intraday trade for the first time since February 15. Gains in financial, auto and IT stocks pushed the markets higher, however losses in energy shares limited the upside. Analysts awaited key macroeconomic data due later this week.

किसान सम्मान निधि योजना किसानों के लिए सम्मान नहीं : योगेंद्र यादव

स्वराज इंडिया के नेता योगेंद्र यादव ने कहा कि पीएम मोदी भले किसान सम्मान निधि योजना को किसानों के हित में बता रही है लेकिन सच्चाई इससे ठीक उलट है. उन्होंने कहा कि इस योजना के तहत किसानों को प्रति महीने 500 रुपये दिए जाएंगे. एक फसल के तौर पर देखें तो एक एकड़ फसल पर 600 रुपये प्रति फसल. इतने पैसे से किसानों का कुछ नहीं होने वाला. यह योजना सही तरीके से कैसे लागू होगी इसका सरकार के पास कोई जवाब नहीं है. अब सवाल यह उठता है कि पांच साल के लिए चुनी गई सरकार अपने छठे बजट में ऐसी घोषणा करती है. इसका साफ मतलब यह है कि किसानों को लुभाने के लिए यह सब किया जा रहा है.
