Mucormycosis, or Black Fungus, has resulted in 126 deaths across India. A rare fungal disease, it has been affecting patients who have recently recovered from COVID-19. The key drug used to treat it is in short supply and unavailable in areas of the country. The centre has given licence to five more manufactures for production of Amphotericin-B, used in the treatment.
