The Congress today dropped its case in the Supreme Court involving the Speaker's powers to disqualify rebel Sachin Pilot and other rebels MLAs shortly after Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot's request for an assembly session was rejected for the second time by the Governor. Governor Kalraj Mishra this morning returned, with queries, the Chief Minister's proposal for a session from July 31 Friday. The Governor had rejected the earlier proposal given last Friday citing the rebels MLAs' petition being heard in courts among the reasons. The Congress's decision to withdraw its Supreme Court case is aimed at weakening the Governor's argument against calling a session.
