Fresh Covid Restrictions In Mumbai As Maharashtra Daily Cases Cross 5,000

The civic authorities in Mumbai clamped down with fresh safety measures as Covid numbers in the state and the city remained in an upward trajectory for a week, logging over 5000 cases on Thursday. Mumbai reported 736 cases. Citizens flouting rules for home isolation, weddings and public gatherings will be prosecuted, said an order from Municipal Commissioner Iqbal Singh Chahal. In two districts of the state -- Amravati and Yavatmal -- restrictions were put in place. Amravati has been placed under lockdown over the week-end -- from Saturday evening to Monday.

Cause Of Death Uncertain: UP Top Cop After Autopsy On 2 Unnao Girls

No injury marks have been found on the bodies of the two teenage girls who were found dead in Uttar Pradesh's Unnao and the cause of their death could not be ascertained in the autopsy, Uttar Pradesh Police Chief Hitesh Chandra Awasthi said on Thursday. A third girl, who was found in a field along with the two, is undergoing treatment at a Kanpur hospital and her condition is "critical but stable", he said.

मुंबई: 5 से ज्यादा कोरोना के मरीज मिलने पर इमारत होगी सील, बीएमसी की गाइडलाइन

कोरोना के नए मामलों की संख्‍या में हो रहे इजाफे के बीच बृहन्‍नमुंबई म्‍युनिसिपल कार्पोरेशन (BMC) आयुक्‍त इकबाल सिंह चहल ने मुम्बई के लिए नई गाइडलाइन जारी की है. इसके अंतर्गत पांच से ज्यादा कोरोना के मरीज मिलने पर इमारत सील की जाएगी. गाइडलाइंस के प्रावधान के अनुसार, होम क्वारंटाइन किये गए नागरिक के हाथ पर स्टैम्प लगाया जाएगा. मास्‍क न पहनने वालों के खिलाफ भी सख्‍ती बरतने का फैसला लिया गया है.

पुदुच्चेरी की नारायणसामी सरकार को बहुमत साबित करने का निर्देश

पुदुच्चेरी में वी. नारायणसामी (V. Narayanasamy) की अगुवाई वाली कांग्रेस सरकार को 22 फरवरी को बहुमत साबित करने को कहा गया है. उप राज्‍यपाल तामिलिसाई सौंदर्यराजन ने नारायणासामी को सोमवार को बहुमत साबित करने के लिए कहा है.गौरतलब है कि पुदुच्चेरी में सत्तारुढ़ कांग्रेस पार्टी नंबर के संकट से जूझ रही है. माना जा रहा है कि चार कांग्रेस विधायकों के इस्तीफे के बाद सीएम नारायणसामी की सरकार अल्पमत में आ गई है. हालांकि, मुख्‍यमंत्री ने इससे इनकार किया है.
